Dropbox recently announced a significant AI update to Dropbox Dash, which brings advanced video and image search, purpose-built AI tools for writing, analysing, and summarising documents, Slack and Microsoft Teams integration.
The move, therefore, allows Dash search platform users to gain access to faster and streamlined enterprise content creation. The Dash updates leveraged AI features to help search across devices for various content types without needing precise file names.
Dash’s new people search feature also swiftly locates subject matter experts within an organisation, making it easier to learn more about colleagues’ knowledge bases or identify up-to-date brand messaging.
Drew Houston, Co-Founder and CEO of Dropbox, added:
Knowledge workers waste more than a month a year just looking for information and switching between apps. With the new Dash, we’re not just helping you find your content faster—we’re helping you put it to work.
New Dropbox Dash Features
Dropbox’s updated AI writing tools allow Dash to create first drafts, leveraging source data such as strategy documents, campaign timelines, and finance information, to create a draft within a preferred template which matches the team’s voice.
Draopbox Dash prioritises flexibility via its integration with Slack and Microsoft Teams. Additionally, further Canva and Jira integration aims to provide users with streamlined workflows, with AI compiling information from Slack and Zoom transcripts without switching or leaving the Dash app.
With these integrations, Dropbox is keen to support IT managers in their security efforts and concerns. Dash includes advanced security controls for excluding sensitive content and managing access permissions.
With the new Dash custom exclusions feature, IT teams can remove sensitive data, such as HR documents, financial data, or confidential projects, from Dash AI search results while maintaining full GDPR compliance.
Dash users can also choose self-hosted AI frameworks to ensure data remains within Dropbox’s secure environment, and the platform’s Protect and Control gives further secure control over confidential documents.
As AI continues to change the world of work, legacy enterprise digital solutions providers are not only integrating AI into their systems but also creating the steps required to ensure its safe usage.
